Position Summary

The Dietary Aide helps ensure residents receive safe, timely, and enjoyable meal service in our senior healthcare facility. Responsibilities include setting up dining areas, assisting with meal preparation under the direction of the dietary manager or cook, washing dishes, sanitizing kitchen equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and dining room.

Dietary Aide Responsibilities

• Set up tables and dining areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and ready for meals.

• Assist with meal preparation by following instructions from the dietary manager or cook.

• Clear tables after meals and collect dishes, utensils, and other dining items.

• Wash and sanitize dishes, silverware, cookware, and food-service equipment.

• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, food stations, and dining areas.

• Dispose of food waste, remove trash, and properly store clean dishes and equipment.

• Monitor food and ingredient supplies and report low inventory as needed.

• Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.

• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.

• Work cooperatively with dietary and kitchen staff to provide efficient, high-quality meal service.

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous food-service or healthcare experience is helpful but not required.

• Ability to follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.

• Friendly attitude and good communication skills.

• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and carrying items.
