Scales Operator/Dispatcher (Part-Time)

The Williamson County Solid Waste Department, located at 5750 Pinewood Road in Franklin, is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Scales Operator/Dispatcher.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the Solid Waste Director and department managers, provide highly responsible administrative work which includes accurately and efficiently monitoring and recording waste volumes entering the facility, verifying the origin of the waste, and collecting appropriate disposal fees; receives requests for service from various locations throughout the County and dispatches Solid Waste trucks to service bins accordingly; answer a multi-line phone and assist callers; and other duties as assigned. Work is performed in a fast-paced office; therefore, the ability to multitask is imperative. Strong customer service experience required in order to educate the public on the disposal of refuse and hazardous waste. This position involves work which utilizes various procedures and/or work methods that permit initiative and independent judgement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in a fast paced office, customer service and cash handling a must.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) preferred.

• Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s license and proof of insurability.

• Work occasional Saturdays
